Straight to the reason why i love Santorini and it's people

Good afternoon from Santorini on a hot sunny day it was a great day for me yesterday of reflecting on who and what im doing on the island. We all know in the world and for me personally living here that pictures and songs are easy to    express feeling than writing your thoughts as to some they might get bored or see it as a negative meaning but one     thing i now know is that when i meet so many people from all over the world and they ask me how it is to live here instead of giving my negative feelings, i love to bring the island to life in the love and enjoyment that keeps and makes me a little different a person who enjoys sharing photos ,recommending places to take full advantage of   time they have while visiting the island without understanding at the time my eyes light up and a great smile is on my face because i know deep down in my heart i have nothing  to gain but returning to Greek tourism my thank you for their sharing to me a respect been Irish living here the right and pride to recommend them as i don't hide or pretend every thing is fine when a service or product is not to my liking .
It has taken many years to be understood by the people around me who i live and socialise with on a working field or personal but in the end they trust that i stand up proud ever morning knowing i had a good day yesterday and today will be as good or even better.
So if you are looking for a means of transport,a place to eat,a hotel to stay in ,a shop to buy memories of santorini ,a guide to show you around or my personal company in a tour of Santorini don't check other info but email me and leave it to me to plan your stay and feel for a few days part of Santorini      

Thirassia my hideaway from it all taking me back to simple Santorini

On Thirassia one of the oldest stones that was used  in the traditional  shelling  of Santorini fava  which was in abundance many years ago .But now you can find in the family gardens  smaller round stones .

 The way i feel today i would love to be here just by the shore listening to the sea and having a lovely sea breeze and the simple life style of Thirassia

MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

When starting out on a new project or job the most frightening worry is said over and over again " Am i doing the right thing " In a  place that has so many buildings that make a new job a little bit easy .You open the door and wait and people can see the product they want to buy or rent,but what and how do you sell your job or project when it is on the net and there are thousands and thousands of sites floating around it is like the octopus which grasps out and hopes for the best.
In Oia today it is calm no cruise boats and i sit here in Skala my safe place dwelling on passed years of so much joy and happy days working and been with friends having the feeling of always been welcomed and knowing the food would be great .Today i tried their new home made meat pie and spinach pie my worth trying when you come as a started or even a main course with one of their salads.
Because i have left Oia doesn't mean i can't return during the day or evening as a long time of my life has been in this village and im not about to turn my back on a place i love due to not finding a house and will always promote the village life and it's steep history and life style before tourism so i will take each day describing my out look of OIA AND SANTORINI        

To the friends of Oia thank you for all your support over the years

To some of you who already know yes i have left Oia but my heart is and will always be there.It is a small community and in away a small family and i have and im privileged to be part of it and will always try to be that smiley irish person you have got to love over 15 years who no matter what can't and won't change my love for Greek tourism and the greek lifestyle .

Love this shop yesterday passed by and it brought a lovely feeling of fun brightness in the colours of sunshine in Alison's work of art. When you go into the gallery it is another world of art in Alisons  paintings ( but i have to show you on the next blog the paintings i love and their are a few )So when you take the walk from Oia to fira on the old road stop in or stroll along the narrow path way off the main road and for sure you will understand why i feel great and refreshed with the vibrant colours of Santorini

 Pass-by sunset this afternoon just to relax as the weather was overcast and within two minutes of sitting the sky changed to open up the beauty and amazing views from the end of Oia if you veer to the right towards the famous sunset of Oia  simple welcoming and where you can before sunset sit and chill out over a coffee or ouzo with their great mezedes.   

They take reservations for 7.30pm to have the best view of the sunset and their special for today is salmon with a medium hot spicy sauce  served with rice. Or try their mussels cooked in a sauce of  tomatoes ,onions, peppers, feta which is a great appetiser for two people.
